Safe Healthy Playing Fields

This Maryland-based nonprofit is educating the public on the benefits of natural playing surfaces, and the health and environmental damage caused by the installation and use of artificial playing surfaces. The group is also advocating for state-level legislation that would require property managers to track the chain of custody of artificial turf, to discourage illegal dumping of the surfaces.

User Experience Advocates

When a Dallas-based group of user experience advocates and an economic development group teamed up to create a magazine to serve as a centerpiece for an international conference, Dave Moore Media researched, wrote and edited the entire project.  The resulting 36-page magazine showed how companies such as Walmart, Subway and USAA apply user experience to train employees, improve operations and reduce legal liabilities.

Transcript of video: Today, we are doing a joint inspection of our large Tamara sewer pipes, as projects that we've been working on for several months now. It starts off with a high-definition camera. As this float goes down the pipe, you actually see strokes, and what it's doing is taking pictures every so often. In post-processing, UTA and Reds are collaborating to turn it into a digital board, walking down the pipe. We can step down and move a couple of feet. "Argh, I see something here. I need to see it from the other side." We'll take an hour to study. This collaboration will facilitate both ways toward the ultimate and common goal of predicting the health, to see if there is an immediate measure that needs to take place. Basically, identify the health. The common goal is sustainable infrastructure. What this device lets us do is find issues before they collapse. Also, we can figure out which pipes are actually bad instead of replacing long stretches of old pipe, as sections of it

Smart Cities, Mapped

Cities across the world are working smarter to keep their traffic and sewer lines flowing, streets safer and citizen complaints addressed. How? They’re integrating technology into the maintenance and operations of daily municipal functions. Dave Moore Media built an interactive online map to create an immersive story describing real-world applications of technology that improve lives every day.
